Changing your belief system can relive anxiety and depression
by Kristen L. Baker
Hello, I myself suffered about 8 years ago from anxiety and depression and it was at the time the most unexplained and misunderstood condition I could have gone through. Always laughing, smiling and happy, successful and very well educated in anxiety, I could not imagine at the time how it could be happening to me. Well, anxiety does not discriminate and it can come out of nowhere. What I found so very helpful is to make that first decision that something had to change. To identify my thoughts as they were, negative, scary, what if thoughts, this had to change. It is a process and it all starts with taking that first step out of your comfort zone.
Medications can help, but the cure really has to start with the individual. I was beyond fortunate, during my suffering for a year, I found my purpose, my experience gave me the life I always wanted and that is to help people. I published my first book in 2005, "It's Okay To Have Anxiety..Really and my second in 2008, 30Day Boot Camp To Eliminate Fears and Phobias. It has been a gift and I belive with all of my heart, however severe the anxiety or depression is, it can be overcome, with some changes and new belief systems. Decluttering the old inner critics and to build self esteem, it is a complex disorder but nobody is hopeless.
Taking the steps to rid yourself from anxiety can be scary at first, but each step beings you closer to freedom. It is so much about control and the anxiety sufferer needs control and in fact, they have the control to make this better.
Coaching people world wide for 5 years, I have learned that there is always one common denominataor with the anxiety and depression sufferer, that is how they think and perceive and what they believe. These are all things that can change with support and dedication and desire.
Never be afraid to ask for help, never be afraid to talk about it. Anxiety sufferers are everywhere and probably within your own network.
Never give up and believe you have that choice to better your life.
